EVALUATING POSSIBLE EFFECT OF MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON VITAL AND RELEVANT ENZYME ACTIVITIES IN PETROLEUM POLLUTED SOIL

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the possible impact of management practices on the activities of important and related enzymes in petroleum-contaminated soil through a four-factor phytoremediation method. The purpose of this experiment is to carry out a four-factor planting experiment according to the planting season in Nigeria in 2013, and choose a soil depth of 20 cm to represent a better community. The results indicate that the decrease in protease activity may be due to autolysis, and there is a time lag between sampling and analysis in different countries/regions, which may limit this study. It is observed that the higher β-glucosidase activity is related to organic matter content and respiratory activity.
