THREE-DIMENSIONAL CENTER OF GRAVITY DETECTIONS FOR PREVENTING ROLLOVER ACCIDENTS OF TRAILER TRUCKS HAULING CONTAINERS
Abstract
The theory of detecting the three-dimensional center of gravity (D3DcG) was an innovation by which the motiondynamics of a ship were applied to moving objects on land such as trains, automobiles, and carts. Marinecontainers are the largest and heaviest materials, with unknown positions of the center of gravity during loadtransport. Therefore, D3DCG can be the best solution for preventing rollover accidents of trailer trucks haulingmarine containers. The eficiency of D3DCG was proved by a social experiment of transporting 45-footcontainers at Sendai in lapan in 2010 in which D3DCG was adopted as the official safety system ofcountermeasures against rollover accidents.Issue
