A QUALITATIVE STUDY OF FACTORS INFLUENCING TREATMENT DECISIONS OF END-OF-LIFE PATIENTS
Abstract
Understand the attitudes of the end-of-life patients and primary caregivers in making medical decisions and figure out the difficulties they face in the decision-making process. Improve patients’ life quality and reduce their pain. Provide a reference for clinical practitioners in choosing their communication style. A phenomenological descriptive qualitative research method was used to conduct the study. Four topics were extracted, that is, financial situation, therapy adherence, traditional culture, and the disease. Seven sub-topics, that is, good therapy adherence, poor therapy adherence, filial piety, social opinions, the view of returning to one’s roots, life values, and the view of inheritance.Issue
