The Application of Graphic Correlation Method in the Observation of Western Interior Basin
Abstract
Graphic correlation is a quantitative, but non-statistical technique to determine the coeval relationship between two sections by comparing the ranges of fossils in both sections. More and more geologists are starting to use graphic correlation technique as the method provides finer precision and resolution of the stratigraphic record than traditional lithostratigraphic correlation. In the paper, we have applied the graphic correlation technique to conduct high-precision chronostratigraphic correlation for the five stratigraphic sections we studied in Colorado, Kansa and Arizona.Issue
