Abstract

This article explores the relationship between the original and the reproduction in Pablo De Santis’s novel El Caliglia de Voltaire. Life represents art, but art also represents life. By an examination of dichotomies such as life and death, man and automaton, calligraphy and printed matter, performance and experience, it is clear that the replica and the original are interchangeable.
